For parents
Managing money effectively is an essential life skill every teenager needs to master. DollarsandSense aims to supplement the financial lessons they learn at home, and in the classroom, in a way that informs and engages.
It includes information that's relevant to teenagers' daily experience, plus interactive tools to help them learn by doing. The site is split up into sections that cover saving, budgeting, employment, borrowing, lending, operating a business, consumer issues, and an overview of essential financial services. Teenagers can also gain answers to their financial questions from relevant professionals through a forum called Ask An Expert.
Enhancing financial literacy
DollarsandSense has been developed in consultation with teachers and curriculum experts from all State and Territory education departments. It is one of the Commonwealth Bank’s youth initiatives. We welcome your feedback.
Explore the site. Our Goal Minder can help teenagers build a savings habit. It enables them to set up a savings goal, and then receive email updates on what they should have saved, so they can monitor their progress.
